How to plan your iRacing season

A useful race plan starts with the weeks you can actually race. Use this guide with the iRacingHub scheduler and the 2026 Season 4 series schedule to choose your series, check your content and build a personal calendar.

1. Narrow the schedule to series you can enter

In All Series, filter by racing category and license class, then use the car and track filters to find your preferred combinations. Read the series license requirement and check your eligibility in iRacing before committing to a plan.

Choose a small set of series you have time to practice for. Compare their weekly tracks and race frequency: a series that uses your favorite car is only useful if its races fit your available time.

2. Compare the season with your garage

Open My Garage and mark the cars and tracks you own. Review your chosen series week by week so you can identify combinations you can already race and weeks that need additional content.

For example, if two of your preferred series visit the same track in different weeks, that track may serve more of your plan than a circuit used only once. Use Buy Guide to review cars, tracks and estimated purchase totals. Confirm prices and eligibility for discounts in the iRacing store before buying.

3. Select race weeks for My Schedule

Select individual race weeks in the scheduler, then open My Schedule to review your choices together. Use By Week when you want to compare what is available during a particular week rather than following one series through the whole season.

Leave room for practice and time away. If several appealing races fall in the same week, choose a main car and track combination first and keep other races as optional additions.

4. Export and share your plan

From My Schedule, download an .ics file for a calendar app, a CSV file for a spreadsheet, or a PDF for a printable copy. Use Share to send a link to your selected schedule.

Downloads are snapshots of your plan. If you change your selections or the season schedule changes, export again and review any previously imported calendar entries to avoid duplicates.

5. Check the schedule before each race week

Review the upcoming track and race length before practicing. The planner helps organize your season; confirm session details and registration in the iRacing UI.

Common planning questions

Do I need to buy every track in a series?

You can plan around selected weeks. Check the content requirements for the races you intend to enter and make purchase decisions around that plan.

Can I plan across different racing categories?

Yes. iRacingHub includes category filters and lets you collect selected race weeks in My Schedule. Check your license eligibility separately for each category.
